Community Project Showcase

The SIL Project Showcase highlights outstanding student projects that aim to improve the UW experience.

By sharing your project, you can gain visibility, build your portfolio, and connect with collaborators while bringing fresh ideas to UW service teams and helping identify emerging needs across campus.

This pathway allows student innovation to inform real UW service visioning and strengthen collaboration between students and UW.

How do I submit a project?

A Submission Must Include

  • Project description for the website (150–200 words)
  • Slide deck summarizing problem, solution, and impact
  • Link to demo video and / or project website
  • Contact name(s) and email(s)

Submit your project

Next Steps (after submission):

  1. SIL Review: SIL reviews submissions and selects 5–10 projects each quarter to feature on the SIL website. Projects that align with UW services and priorities will be shared with the relevant service team, even if they are not selected for the showcase.
  2. Notification: If a project is selected for the showcase, teams will be notified prior to publication.
  3. Service Team Review (not guaranteed): If a service team is interested in your project, you may be invited to present your work to the team.
    • Note: UW service teams have limited capacity and project timelines. Even strong ideas may not move forward immediately, but all submissions help inform long-term service visioning.
  4. Community Connections (optional): You can indicate if you’re seeking collaborators (UX designers, developers, etc.). Collaborators may reach out directly to teams with projects selected for the website.
